Bethesda construction update: Cheltenham apartments (Photos)

The residential development at 4725 Cheltenham Drive in Bethesda now has a name: Cheltenham. A 102-unit apartment building, it replaces a former Midas auto repair facility. The new building will have no on-site parking; a public parking garage is located directly across the street. Drilling and piling rigs are now working at the site, likely to assist in construction of the building's foundation.

At first glance, I though giant robot statures were being erected downtown. The nearby residents have my sympathy regarding the noise.

Nearby residents and the CVS lot have *my* sympathy for the parking nightmares to come.

The lack of parking for a 102-unit building is total BS approved by the irresponsible planning board and county council that do everything they can to ignore residents and their own approved development plan.

Thanks, we raised and pushed back again the no-parking issue directly multiple times and in various venues with the ptb. They don't give a crap ...
