Amid worker shortage, Bethesda Starbucks to hold hiring event

The Starbucks at 7700 Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda will be holding a hiring event on July 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the store. No registration or sign-up is necessary. On-the-spot interviews will be held for barista and shift supervisor positions. The event comes as Starbucks and other hospitality businesses compete for a shrinking number of workers in a tight labor market, which has led many of the chain's stores to have to close early some days.

True Food Kitchen to host job fair in Bethesda

True Food Kitchen, the health-oriented restaurant with cuisine inspired by Dr. Andrew Weil's anti-inflammatory diet, is scheduled to open June 14 in downtown Bethesda. The restaurant is now staffing up at all positions.

True Food Kitchen will be hosting job fairs at the virtually-completed restaurant, located in the ground floor of the Solaire Bethesda apartments at 7100 Wisconsin Avenue. The dates are May 8 – May 13, May 15 – May 20, and May 22 – May 27, Monday through Saturday only, from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. 

The restaurant plans to hire nearly 130 employees, including servers, hosts/hostesses, prep cooks, pastry cooks, line cooks, wok cooks, back servers, dishwashers, pizza cooks and bartenders.

Keepers Staffing opening in Bethesda (Photos)

Employment agency Keepers Staffing has leased the vacant space at 7514 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, previously home to City Cafe and Caterers. Keepers has existing locations in Rockville, Alexandria and Baltimore. They've installed their permanent sign out front, but it's not lit yet.

There are signs that the build-out of the interior of the Experimac store in the Bainbridge Bethesda at 4915 Fairmont Avenue may be getting underway. In addition to the ladder and other materials, there is an ad seeking staff to promote and market the store, which specializes in Apple device repairs, sales, and trade-ins.

New José Andrés restaurant in Bethesda hiring

Beefsteak, the new fast-casual restaurant from the culinary empire of Chef José Andrés at Westfield Montgomery Mall, is hiring for all positions. They will be welcoming prospective employees in-person at the restaurant's Dining Terrace location next week, but also at an Open House from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on June 3 and 4, where they say they will "hire on the spot."

Harris Teeter hosting job fairs for new downtown Bethesda store

Just graduating from high school or college? Harris Teeter has just announced they are hiring for every position in their new downtown Bethesda store at 8300 Wisconsin Avenue.

They will be hosting two invitation-only job fairs on June 9 and June 23, 2016. Apply online, and they will contact you to let you know if you qualify for an interview at the job fairs.

The store is expected to open this summer.

PassionFish hiring in Bethesda

Is summer ending without the plum job you were expecting to land after graduating college? Not surprising, considering Montgomery County hasn't lured a single major corporate headquarters here in over a decade. If it's time for Plan B, one of the most anticipated restaurants to open this year in Bethesda is hiring.

PassionFish, which will open in September in the ground floor of the Darcy luxury condos at 7171 Woodmont Avenue, is hiring for all positions. Like neighbor Silver, they have also set up a recruiting center for prospective employees.

The PassionFish employment office is at 7187 Woodmont Avenue, and will be open Monday-Friday from 10 AM - 6 PM, and on Saturdays 12-4 PM. You can also email resumes through their Craigslist ad.

Future Bethesda rooftop restaurant Urban Heights is hiring staff, as this sign instructing interviewees indicates. The space atop the Norfolk-Cordell II building at that Woodmont Triangle crossroads has been taken over by DC-area restauranteur and chef Robert Wiedmaier (Mussel Bar, Marcel's, Brasserie Beck).
