Christmas tree & holiday lights lit at Bethesda Row (Photos)

The Christmas tree is lit on Bethesda Lane at Bethesda Row. In addition, other holiday light installations around the Federal Realty property have also been activated. These include the stars hung from the canopy on the new plaza outside of Anthropologie & Co. There are also vertical strips and curtains of lights on the facades of the buildings along Bethesda and Woodmont Avenues. Let's take a look as we enter Day 4 of the 2025 holiday season!

Christmas decorations popping up in downtown Bethesda (Photos)

Norfolk Avenue streetery

The holiday spirit is in evidence at the Norfolk Avenue streetery in downtown Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle, and on the ground level of the new Marriott International office building at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue. Once again, the Merry Bethesda selfie wall is now at the streetery, along with some wreaths - but few diners making use of the outdoor dining space. Over at the Marriott building, presents have been placed beneath Christmas trees in the lobby, along with a wreath.

Christmas tree up at Bethesda Row (Photos)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Bethesda Row. Elves erected the giant Christmas tree that appears each year on Bethesda Lane yesterday. More trees and menorahs are on the way for other spots around the property. I noticed that the decorations on the tree are more of a monochromatic gold this year, compared to the red balls that were mixed in on previous trees.

North Star Christmas Trees celebrates 50 years as it opens for 2020

For many, after Thanksgiving dinner has passed, the next order of business Friday is getting the Christmas tree. North Star Christmas Trees is celebrating a major milestone as it opens for the 2020 Christmas season tomorrow at 2550 East-West Highway Service Road at Grubb Road in Chevy Chase. This will be North Star's 50th holiday season.

North Star used to have their Christmas tree lot on the "green mile" of Wisconsin Avenue across from the Chevy Chase Club. For the last few years, they've been at the new spot on East-West Highway that is also convenient to downtown Silver Spring. The family-run business' hours in Chevy Chase will be 12:00-10:00 PM Monday-Friday, and 10:00 AM-10:00 PM Saturday and Sunday, from November 27 through December 24, 2020.

Christmas decorations have been added to the Bethesda Streetery on Norfolk Avenue. Additions so far include a potted Christmas tree, a wreath, and a pine-backdrop "Merry Bethesda" selfie wall. The Streetery is a closed-off roadway with tables for diners from nearby restaurants to use for outdoor dining. Another one is located at Bethesda Row on Woodmont Avenue.
