All southbound lanes of Wisconsin between Norfolk Avenue and Middleton Lane are expected to remain closed until 4:00 PM today, Sunday, June 26. 2002.. There are actually at least two mobile cranes being used for this work, the nature of which has not been specified by the Maryland State Highway Administration, which authorized the lane closures. SB Wisconsin Avenue to close between Norfolk & Middleton in Bethesda much of Sunday, June 26th
A mobile crane contractor has permission from the Maryland State Highway Administration to close all of the southbound lanes of Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) at Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda this coming Sunday, June 26, 2022. The closure hours are expected to be from 2:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, and the segment of Wisconsin affected is between Norfolk and Middleton Lane. A traffic control contractor will guide southbound drivers onto Norfolk Avenue to detour around the closures.
If weather prevents the crane operation on Sunday, it will be performed beginning at 2:00 AM Monday morning. The crane will be assisting work at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue.

Tower crane erected at 7000 Wisconsin construction site in Bethesda (Photos)
The tower crane is up at the construction site of the future 7000 Wisconsin apartment building in downtown Bethesda. Work on the crane assembly began before dawn this morning, requiring lane closures on Wisconsin Avenue. Some side streets were temporarily blocked off as well, as large trucks and a crane-to-build-the-crane were brought in to assist.

Crane operations at a construction site on Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) is closing lanes near Leland Street at this hour. Southbound lanes are entirely blocked. Traffic headed south is being directed into part of the northbound lanes at this time. The operations appear to be for a tower crane assembly at the 7000 Wisconsin apartment building project site.

Crane activity shuts down SB Wisconsin Avenue between Cordell and Fairmont Avenues in Bethesda (Video+Photos)
Crane activity at the 8001 Woodmont building required shutting down the southbound lanes of Wisconsin Avenue between Cordell and Fairmont Avenues today. The sidewalk was also closed. At least one piece of heavy equipment was hauled up to the rooftop of the high-rise around noon.

Crane work closes Montgomery Avenue at Avocet Tower construction site; overnight lane closures through April (Photos)
Montgomery Avenue temporarily closed to traffic yesterday afternoon so that a crane could be used at the adjacent construction site of Avocet Tower. As I reported last week, expect lane and road closures there through Monday. There could be additional lane closures between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM through April there, for installation of new duct banks for telecom and fiber services that will cross underneath Montgomery to Avocet Tower.

SB Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) to close at Elm Street/Bethesda Avenue Saturday in downtown Bethesda
All southbound lanes of Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) will between Bethesda Avenue and Elm Street on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A flagman and police officer will direct southbound traffic into one northbound lane, which will be converted into a southbound lane during those hours.
During the closure, Crane Service Company, Inc. will erect a 75-ton crane that will be used to hoist steel for future construction work in that area, Montgomery County officials said yesterday. They did not indicate the specific project or property the crane is being constructed for. Woodmont Avenue would ordinarily be a detour, but it is closed at Elm Street and Bethesda Avenue for the Bethesda Streetery.
