DRUG ARREST AT BCC HIGH SCHOOL - BETHESDA CRIME UPDATE

Police made a narcotics arrest at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School last Friday, according to crime data.

Among other notable crimes around Bethesda over the weekend:

MAY 17:

Theft from vehicle. 5200 block Glenwood Road.

MAY 18:

Theft. Bethesda Metro Center.

Theft. 7100 block Woodmont Avenue.

Assault. 9500 block Bulls Run Parkway.

POLICE MAKE 4 DRUG BUSTS IN ONE DAY IN WEST BETHESDA - BETHESDA CRIME UPDATE

Wednesday was a fairly unusual day along the River Road/MacArthur Boulevard corridors, as police made four narcotics arrests.

The busts were made in the 5100 block of River Road and 5500 Landy Lane, 6200 block of Bannockburn Drive and Halbert Road, 7200 block of MacArthur Boulevard and Oberlin Avenue, and on a River Road Beltway ramp.

Other crimes this week included a theft at Walt Whitman HS, which occurred on February 20, as well.

THEFT AT BETHESDA ROW APPLE STORE, BURGLARY AT HOLTON ARMS - BETHESDA CRIME REPORT

A theft at the Bethesda Row Apple Store, a break-in at Holton Arms School, and a stolen car on Lone Oak Drive are among the notable crimes reported this past Monday, January 28, in Bethesda.

DRUG ARREST AT WALT WHITMAN HS, 4 BETHESDA THEFTS IN 2 DAYS - BETHESDA CRIME REPORT

One person was arrested for narcotics at Walt Whitman High School last Wednesday, December 5, according to crime data.

Four thefts took place in the River Road corridor over two days, as well.  Two were thefts from vehicles.  Between December 5-6, thefts occurred in the following locations:

6400 block of Goldsboro Road

4600 block of Western Avenue

7100 block of Whittier Boulevard

5900 block of Welborn Drive

Some guys just don't know when to quit.  While it's well known that inclement weather deters crime, one or more Bethesda thieves weren't so easily dissuaded Monday.  Even as Hurricane Sandy was beginning to hit Bethesda with winds and rain, he/she/they were on a mission in the Green Acres neighborhood - and it wasn't to find flashlights and batteries.

Three thefts were reported in the neighborhood Monday.  Two were in the 4600 block of Bayard Boulevard, and the third was in the 4700 block of Overbrook Road.

Theft-weary Green Acres has experienced many such crimes this year, particularly during its "Summer of Snatch," when it endured several theft and burglary waves.

Two other thefts on nearby Baltimore Avenue in the last week strongly indicate that thieves are targeting that area right now.  You know the drill:  lock car doors, and secure doors and windows in your home.  Report any suspicious vehicles or persons to the police.

Meanwhile, in downtown Bethesda, two narcotics arrests were made at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School on Thursday, October 25.  It is not yet known if those arrested were students enrolled at the school.
