PEET'S COFFEE BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (PHOTOS)
Construction is underway for the future Bethesda location of Peet's Coffee and Tea, in the former Caribou Coffee space at 7629 Old Georgetown Road. The Caribou logo has left a burnt-in impression on the building exterior. Peet's is hiring; if you missed the recent job fair, you can apply online.

Maybe I missed something, but what's the deal with the Caribou closure and almost immediate moving in of competitor, Peet's?
I can understand if Caribou just wasn't doing enough business or something ... but for another coffee place to immediately decide it wanted to go into the same space that failed for the previous tenant seems odd.
I haven't ever been in a Peet's before, to be honest ... but I thought Caribou had some excellent drinks including a Mocha with real melted dark chocolate bar in it. Kind of sorry to see it go.
It's the same company.
