CORDELL AVE. TRANSFORMER GETS TRANSFORMED IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Is this the earliest Christmas tree lot in Bethesda history? Passersby can't be blamed for momentarily being in the holiday spirit.

The transformer that some found an awkward occupant of the patio, at the new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins on Cordell Avenue, is awkward no more. Now it's behind a wall of trees, which have been placed around it as a screen.

It can truly be said that "you can't see the transformer for the trees" in Bethesda. Somebody get Michael Bay on the phone - preferably a Samsung phone.

I would like to see our ugly metal boxes be made into public art of some kind. In other cities artists are hired to paint on utility boxes like these. Ithaca NY for example, has painted some of their traffic light control boxes.
