Montgomery County police responded to a report of an assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall late Wednesday afternoon, August 6, 2025. The assault was reported at a clothing store in the mall at 4:58 PM. Police have not yet identified the name of the store. The assault occurred amid a shoplifting incident at the business.
This is the sixth assault reported at the property so far this year. It had been a relatively quiet summer up to this point at the mall, however. There were 11 assaults reported at the popular retail center in 2024, 5 in 2023, and 12 in 2022.

As has been said countless times, this mall is not what it used to be. The disrespect of young people is really beyond belief. I was entering a store at the mall last night and was mocked by two teenage boys. Why? What was their aim in addressing someone simply entering a store in a snarky and inappropriate manner? No wonder there are assaults weekly. The mall is full of teenagers just walking around doing nothing. They are bored? Go outside and kick a ball. That had never ever happened to me at the mall and now even close. Nothing further took place but that was pretty shocking. No respect of adults at all.
This Assault a result of shoplifting apprehension? Begs the question, how many shoplifting cases are there? I bet 'shrinkage' is rampant.
It's not easy! I get no respect, no respect at all! I tell ya, I'm doin' all right now, but last week, I was in rough shape, ya know?
One 'microaggression' and leftists call down HR DEI on you. But regular folk are expected to endure real attempts at intimidation without a peep.
It's not, "Begs the question"; it's, "Raises the question."
12:44 - Yes. Somehow the good guys, just trying to browse a store on a summer evening, are the problem. Back asswards.
