Assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall Thursday afternoon, August 14, 2025. The assault was reported at the mall at 4:12 PM Thursday. This is the seventh assault police have responded to at the property this year. It had been a relatively quiet summer at the mall up until August 6, when the last assault took place during a shoplifting incident at a clothing store. There were 11 assaults reported at the popular retail center in 2024, 5 in 2023, and 12 in 2022, putting this year's numbers in line with last year's so far.

Is specific-.incident or aggregated rolled-up demographic information about the alleged perpetrators of these assaults ever reported such as the gender, sex, age, race, and hometown location? If so, we here can we go to find it?

You don't say? Seventh? By year's end it'll be 70th. How many police incidents does Tyson's Corner Mall have by comparison? Asking for a friend.

What about Wheaton Mall? What about it? They've had shootings both inside and outside of that mall. It's multiples worse than Montgomery. Many, including me, go directly into the Costco and directly out again. The Target there is a nice store as well but same thing, in and out. Otherwise, avoid completely. They should tear it down and rebuild White Flint.
