Auto theft activity is picking up again along one of the criminals' favorite corridors in Montgomery County, River Road and Massachusetts Avenue near the Washington, D.C. line. A vehicle was stolen from a home in the 5300 block of Allandale Road in Green Acres on the evening of July 28, 2025. Montgomery County police say that the vehicle had been left unlocked, and with the keys inside. Fortunately, detectives were able to locate and recover the vehicle the next day.
Thieves returned the very next evening to steal a second vehicle in the 5200 block of Worthington Drive in the Westgate neighborhood off Massachusetts. That vehicle has not yet been recovered.
Remember to lock your vehicle, and remove all visible objects from the interior. Park in a garage or well-lit area if possible, and do not leave keys or key fobs in the glove compartment or ignition.

They haven't read the news that crime is down across the DC metro area. Better get these criminals improved mobile internet, (at taxpayers expense of course), so they can understand that Wes Moore and the entire MD assembly declared Trump's accessement of crime is wrong.
Thank you for your attention on this matter.
Yeah, the Left is going nuts about Trump crime crackdown in DC. Wes Moore had to opine about that? Why? We can't have a federal takeover here in MD sadly like DC. But no cash bail, light sentencing and not trying youth as adults and more leads to this chaos. No matter crime stats, this is appalling. Never happened here before ever. Vote them all out.
I haven't yet seen any discussion anywhere of (preparations for) the possibility that Trump's new anticrime initiatives might, at least in the short term, cause some criminals to shift their activities to Montgomery County and other nearby areas.
Like I always say with River Rd and Mass Ave, nice quiet residential neighborhoods with easy and fast getaway routes. From a thieves point of view, what’s not to like !
8:43 - Sure but the thieves do what they do anywhere. Soft of crime. And what does Elrich (who says nothing about crime ever) do? Makes a statement about how to deal with homeless being kicked out of DC by Trump. Typical liberal slight of hand.
I was thinking the same about his plan/proposal to purge the homeless from DC ... where to send them, where to send them?
