Things are moving quickly outside of BabyCat Brewery at 4850 Rugby Avenue, the Kensington-based brewery's soon-to-open downtown Bethesda taproom and restaurant. Yesterday, I reported on the fencing installed around the outdoor patio space. On Tuesday, tables, chairs, and heating units were delivered. The taproom is located in the ground floor of the Gallery Bethesda II apartment tower.

Those patio heaters are good but they really need a giant fire pit out there. That would be awesome. Kids can do marshmellows. Wait, this is MoCo. Never mind.
A fire pit. Of course. What could possibly go wrong???
2:15 - Can't tell if that's a humorous post or not. I'll respond this way regardless. Answer, nothing. Many establishments have open fire pits. With the 24/7 news cycle, and seemingly everything reported somewhere, you would have heard about an incident. None. Great idea and you're welcome Baby cat.
Fire pit, cooking source for the homeless.
There's a fire pit on Bethesda Lane and I haven't heard of any issues. It's totally public as well, but part of any particular restaurant on Bethesda Row.
