The rapid scheduled disassembly of Woodmont Grill continues at 7715 Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. Woodmont Grill closed after the close of business on October 29, 2025. What parent company Hillstone Restaurant Group tells anyone who asks is that the closure was due to a lack of parking. This is rather farcical, given that there is a huge parking garage directly across the street from the restaurant. Tastee Diner and Black's Bar & Kitchen somehow remain in business with this non-existent parking dilemma.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, more pieces of the Woodmont Grill are being hauled away. Signage has been removed, and the words "Proper Attire Requested" have been scraped off the door. Packing boxes are visible inside the building.

Great point about Tastee and Black's. It was said by front of the house employees that their business was hurting. Shocking if true. They were the only place in the area that would not seat you without reservation. It's a loss no matter what. The Bethesda, Rockville and Georgetown locations of Houston's were packed all the time. What will take it's place? Nothin as good. That market is expensive and it's tougher to make money now. You'll see places begin to close. There are too many options and few good enough to survive. Clyde's isn't a bad second but not as walkable.
Cheesecake Factory at Westfield Montgomery is another restaurant with demand, broad menu and quality product.
That is a bummer! Great place, especially since Houstons left town
I moved from denial to anger, bypassed bargaining, depression, and acceptance, and have settled in at vengeance, vowing to never give another dime to any establishment affiliated with the Hillstone Group, wherever they may be. The owners gave diners in this area the Finger, and it seems only fitting to return the favor.
Glenwoods is decent.
Blacks is right across the street and better than Woodmont Grill ever was.
Well, you have the first two right.
They were both the same, ICYDK!
So I guess there was no reservations about gutting the joint!
