Suspect arrested in North Bethesda Marriott hotel shooting death

Montgomery County police have arrested a suspect in the May 14, 2026 fatal shooting of a hotel guest outside of the North Bethesda Marriott Hotel and Conference Center at 5701 Marinelli Road in Rockville. Terrance Brainell Williams, 41, has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Quentin Tyrone Davis. Police initially had reason to suspect the alleged shooter had fled on foot to the nearby White Flint Metro station. But after reviewing surveillance video, they identified a person seen walking from a car toward the hotel just prior to the shooting. That same person was seen returning to the vehicle immediately after the shooting, and driving away.

Detectives allege that individual is Williams. They also assert that Williams and Davis knew each other prior to the shooting. Williams is being held at the County jail pending a bond hearing.

Unfortunately, MD has no death penalty and has "I see no evil" McCarthy as gatekeeper.

Seems like the people who said it was a targeted hit and not a random act of crime were right.

MCPD will get their perp and no Joe on the street needs to stick their rudder nose in via a scanner, or whine profusely about no report of what the hell is taking so long. Pay your damned taxes and STFU!

Robert: Please let us know the bond amount once he's ultimately released by a judge who has toxic empathy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ladies and gentlemen today we have that rare event a triple play. North Bethesda v Rockville v White Flint. Old v new v uncharted. Epic.

We need a total and complete moratorium on gang activity

We all know why he targeted who he did and not a judge... --- Good job detectives, solid work.

Yes, it's a real shame that professional law enforcement authorities don't regularly consult the comments on this blog to gather tidbits of wisdom and insight.

Glad they got who they think did it. Yes, good job

They knew each other from prison and apparently had some beef. Great!

Well, well, it seems I was right: it was targeted violence and not favela-like random street crime.

2:34, you were right in calling this an outlier from the trend. This doesn't appear to be representative of opportunistic crime by one already armed nor an act of uncontrolled aggression more typical of our historic street crime.

Luckily no innocent bystander shot in the line of fire.

"professional law enforcement authorities" That's a contradiction of terms.

There is no “White Flint Station”.
