City Burger closes in Bethesda, Fish Taco to take over space (Photos)

City Burger has closed at 7015 Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda. In a change of plans, Fish Taco is now advertised as taking over the space this spring. City Burger was a concept by chef Michael Harr, who also was a founder of Food, Wine & Co. in the neighboring Apex Building.

Fish Taco was originally going to open in a 2800 SF space in the Artery Plaza building across the street.

This sounds similar to the fitness studio that was supposed to move into the historic Bethesda post office, but then suddenly popped up in the Bethesda Crescent Building across the street.

CITY BURGER INSTALLS SIGN IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

We're getting closer to opening day at City Burger on May 14; the restaurant has installed its permanent sign on Wisconsin Avenue. Chef Michael Harr's entry into the DC-area burger wars is eagerly awaited in a town where one of the top burger joints, Kraze Burgers, recently closed its doors for good. Smashburger and BGR remain the top competitors within walking distance, but remember that Harr's Food, Wine & Co. is regularly being named one of the top 100 restaurants in the region.
