Hammer & Nails Grooming Lounge is coming soon to downtown Bethesda. The luxury grooming shop for men offers barbering services, skincare, waxing, and hand and foot care. It will be located at 7712 Woodmont Avenue in the ground floor of the Lionsgate condominiums. Premium memberships will be available, and Founding Memberships are available now.

Nail salon to fill vacant storefront at Lionsgate in Bethesda

The Lionsgate condominium building is swapping a salon for another salon on its ground floor. A nail salon has leased the space just vacated by Blue Bell Hair Salon & Spa at 7718 Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. Construction on the interior fit-out appears to be just getting underway. 

Meanwhile, an update on Blue Bell Hair Salon & Spa: While their new space is under construction nearby, the stylists are now working out of two temporary locations. Clients of Niana should go to 4964 Fairmont Avenue (Cheval Bethesda condominium tower), and clients of Fred, Maria, and Natalie can find them at Studio 47 at 4710 Bethesda Avenue (The Seasons apartments). The latter location has been added since my last report.

Everett Hall opening downtown Bethesda store

Everett Hall, a legendary name in menswear in Washington, D.C., and around the world, is coming to downtown Bethesda. It will be located at 7706 Woodmont Avenue, in the ground floor of the Lionsgate condominiums. If an Everett Hall suit was good enough for Nelson Mandela, it's probably good enough for you. Everett Hall has had a longtime location at Chevy Chase Pavilion. Get ready to dress for success with Everett Hall in Bethesda.

A protective canopy has been constructed over the sidewalk in front of the Lionsgate condos at 7710 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda. Maintenance work on the building exterior requires this to be done. Scaffolding and other materials are visible on the plaza outside the condos.

5 Star Dry Cleaners to open in downtown Bethesda

Woodmont Cleaners recently moved from the Lionsgate condo building to Triangle Towers on Cordell Avenue. Residents of the Lionsgate will soon have a new dry cleaning option downstairs, however. 5 Star Dry Cleaners has leased the old Woodmont Cleaners space at 7649 Old Georgetown Road. 5 Star will open on March 15, 2022.

Citizens Bank now open in downtown Bethesda (Photos)

Citizens Bank has opened at 7637 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. It was previously an HSBC branch, and is one of 80 east coast HSBC locations acquired by Citizens last year. Note that the new bank does not have weekend hours. It is located in the Lionsgate condo building, and there is a public parking garage directly adjacent to the Lionsgate.

The lions out in front of the Lionsgate condo buildings are ready for Christmas. Each one has been adorned with a large wreath around its neck. It will be interesting to see in this unusual year how holiday displays at residential buildings will change, if at all. Lionsgate always does something. Triangle Towers and The Palisades usually have the most elaborate decorations and lights out front. Let's see who wins the lights and display contest this year.

This seems to be the week of beauty salon reveals in downtown Bethesda. First up on Monday was Phenix Salon at 4500 East-West Highway.

Now the second mystery salon in the ground floor of the Lionsgate condo building at 7710 Woodmont Avenue is known. Blue Bell Hair Salon & Spa is taking over the space that previously held a lingerie boutique.

There is no Facebook page or website yet for the salon.

A source tells me a new beauty salon is coming to the ground floor of the Lionsgate condomiums at 7710 Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The yet-unnamed salon will take over a 1820 SF space at the luxury condo building. Construction should begin soon.

SYLENE OPENING IN BETHESDA? THE INTRIGUE THICKENS! (PHOTO)

A couple of months ago, I reported that a new women's boutique had leased a storefront in the Lionsgate condo building.  And that it was leased by the owner of the popular and well-known Sylene lingerie boutique in Chevy Chase.

My source at the time could only confirm it would be a women's apparel shop.  The question was, is this a second Sylene location, or is Sylene moving to Bethesda from Friendship Heights?  Or, is this a new fashion venture not centered on lingerie?

When I contacted Sylene for that article, their response was a curt statement that they were quite pleased with their current location, and which did not address any of the questions regarding the new Bethesda boutique.

Well, as this spy shot shows, employees of the mystery Bethesda boutique have been working into the night recent evenings, and the window displays are - so far - showcasing... lingerie.  Which would suggest that this is indeed a future Sylene store.  No official word yet, however.

A vacant space on the ground floor of the Lionsgate condominium building has been leased by the owner of the Sylene lingerie boutique in Chevy Chase.  An employee of the Lionsgate confirmed the new boutique will sell women's apparel, but whether this will be a Sylene shop, or a separate fashion enterprise, has not yet been announced.  Stay tuned for more details, but I wanted to pass the news along to you as soon as possible.

The Bar Method, a fitness studio promising a fat-burning, body-sculpting and posture-improving workout, is moving into a vacated retail space on the ground floor of the Lionsgate building in Bethesda.

Boasting celebrity endorsers like Anna Paquin, Zooey Deschanel and Denise Richards, the company says its Bethesda studio will open in 2013.
