Taste of Bethesda 2025 Photo Gallery

Taste of Bethesda, the town's biggest annual event, drew a huge crowd yesterday to the Woodmont Triangle neighborhood. The weather more than cooperated this time, a rarity in recent years. A few newcomers joined a roster of many of Bethesda's top restaurants, including the just-opened Tasty Grills & Catering, and the soon-to-open BabyCat Brewery. Notably absent was the once-ubiquitous Jaleo/Spanish Diner giant paella pan, as hometown celebrity chef Jose Andrés has exited the Bethesda market. BabyCat Brewery reports it could be open in three weeks if all goes according to plan; longer if it does not.

Bethesda Urban Partnership hosted the biggest annual event in downtown Bethesda yesterday, the Taste of Bethesda 2024. Here's a look at many of the vendors, organizations, and elected officials who participated in this year's even. Attendees appreciated the improved weather over some recent years. Amazon Fresh from the Collection at Chevy Chase in Friendship Heights had a booth, as they celebrate a "grand reopening" of the new and improved grocery store.

Rainy weather, or the perceived threat of such, has in recent years shifted the biggest question around the Taste of Bethesda from "Which new restaurants will participate this year?" to "Will the Taste of Bethesda be held this year?" Perhaps weatherman Fred Weiss interceded for us in the Great Beyond, as a spritz of a morning gave way to a sunny afternoon and a successful Taste of Bethesda. Despite some of the cancellations of recent Octobers, the turnout was big - so big that some complained about the time it took to get through the taste ticket lines at some points during the day.
