Taste of Bethesda 2023 Photo Gallery

Rainy weather, or the perceived threat of such, has in recent years shifted the biggest question around the Taste of Bethesda from "Which new restaurants will participate this year?" to "Will the Taste of Bethesda be held this year?" Perhaps weatherman Fred Weiss interceded for us in the Great Beyond, as a spritz of a morning gave way to a sunny afternoon and a successful Taste of Bethesda. Despite some of the cancellations of recent Octobers, the turnout was big - so big that some complained about the time it took to get through the taste ticket lines at some points during the day. Let's take a look at a clear-skied, if cool and blustery, Taste of Bethesda:

Yesterday's weather was not bad, if a bit on the blustery side, resulting in another successful Taste of Bethesda event for 2019. This year's edition included some new entries, including the intriguing Leo & Liv, opening soon at The Bethesdan Hotel at 8120 Wisconsin Avenue. Also spotted was a booth for Montgomery County Council District 1 member Andrew Friedson. This was also the first year for Casa Oaxaca, at 4905 Fairmont Avenue.

Taste of Bethesda 2018 may have had biggest turnout yet (Photos)

Despite cloudy skies yesterday, warm weather and a lack of precipitation allowed for a tremendous turnout at the Taste of Bethesda. Just by my measurement, crowds remained heavy up through the last hour of the annual street festival, the biggest event in Bethesda.

candidate Robert Dyer and County Executive candidate
Robin Ficker greeted voters, while most other
candidates skipped the event this year
The Taste of Bethesda is also a traditional stop for Montgomery County candidates for political office. With possibly the biggest crowd ever at the event, it was surprising that most candidates - unlike other years - failed to show up. I was there from around 1:00 to the end at 4:00, and the only candidates I saw during that time were myself and County Executive candidate Robin Ficker.
