MOMO CHICKEN + JAZZ POSTS COMING SOON BANNER (PHOTOS)

Bethesda's answer to BonChon is still opening soon - but with a new name. A new Coming Soon banner on the front of the restaurant known up to now as Turntable offers a new moniker: 

MoMo Chicken + Jazz.

The main dish - Korean fried chicken - remains the same. And that's what matters, right? MoMo is located at 4862 Cordell Avenue.

TURNTABLE MAD-FOR-CHICKEN BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (PHOTOS)

Construction continues at the future Korean fried chicken restaurant known as Turntable *Mad-for-Chicken*, to patrons of its New York City flagship location. The new Bethesda outpost of Turntable is taking over the original location of California Tortilla. Say goodbye to the old CalTort paint scheme, though - a new, brown coat of paint has just been added to the building. This could be a base coat, and not the final color.

TURNTABLE - MAD FOR CHICKEN - BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (PHOTOS)

Here are some photo updates from Turntable - Mad for Chicken -, the New York City Korean fried chicken export taking over the old California Tortilla space on Cordell Avenue. These were taken on 3 different days, starting last Saturday, April 5. As you can tell, a new outdoor patio space is being created:

TURNTABLE - MAD FOR CHICKEN - BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

The future Bethesda location of New York City's Koreatown favorite Turntable: Mad for Chicken has applied for a liquor license from Montgomery County. A hearing will be held for the Cordell Avenue fried chicken wing business on April 17, at 9:00 AM, at the County Council building at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville.

Construction continues on the interior, which used to house the original flagship location of locally-based fast-casual chain, California Tortilla. Cal Tort, of course, moved across the street last year. Obviously, they've got a way to go on the interior here. There's still a dumpster out front.

Let's hope Turntable brings some of its adult beverages from the NYC's list - ones rare in Bethesda, such as Soju, Asahi, Hite, a few interesting shots, and even a drink named after Barack Obama. You can also get drumsticks at Turntable, which are more my speed than wings. It's hard to beat KFC, but I'll put Turntable to the test when it opens.
