Tyber Bierhaus to become St. Arnold's of Bethesda

Tyber Bierhaus will drop its German pub concept for another already pioneered by the same ownership in D.C. On Wednesday at lunchtime, the business will officially become known as St. Arnold's of Bethesda, linking it with St. Arnold's Mussel Bar in the District.

The change will mean a switch of cuisine from German to Belgian, including mussels, fries and Belgian waffles. St. Arnold's is located at 7525 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda.

TYBER BIERHAUS - BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (PHOTOS)

A gleaming new bar is in place at the future Tyber Bierhaus in downtown Bethesda. There's still work to be done before this restaurant/bar is finished, however.

From the signs, it appears that the beer list will include Belgian/Belgian-style brews (Rodenbach, Hommel Bier), as well as German (Hofbräu München). That would follow the theme of the owners' other restaurants in the District.

This outpost is on Old Georgetown Road, near the Bethesda Metro Center. Click on the photos to enlarge for more detail:

One of the more interesting restaurants coming to downtown Bethesda is Tyber Bierhaus, which will take over the former home of The Box Bar and Grill at 7525 Old Georgetown Road. Now I hear that, according to Tyber's general manager, they are hoping to open in mid-February. However, the specific day is not firm yet, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, here's a look at the ongoing makeover of the spot ahead of the opening:
