First residents move into The Brody apartments in Bethesda (Photos)

SJG Properties has successfully delivered The Brody apartments at 4901 Montgomery Lane in downtown Bethesda. The first residents are now moving in, and the construction fences have been removed. Some minor work is being completed inside the building. You can see a couple of trees on the rooftop, and there is a public art piece on the small plaza outside the lobby entrance.

Near delivery, West Lane Apartments changes name to The Brody (Photos)

The Hills fans may have found the perfect address in downtown Bethesda. SJG Properties' West Lane Apartments project is on the verge of delivery at 4901 Montgomery Lane, but at the last moment, the building's name has been changed to...The Brody.

A new website has been created with the name change, and offers some new details, such as the use of Porcelanosa tile (a rare find in recent buildings) and L'Arte Design Italian cabinets. The 112-unit building has a 2-level underground parking garage, a gym, a terrace bar, and a rooftop deck. That curved facade over the lobby entrance remains the feature that sets this building apart from others delivered since the Great Recession.

Bethesda construction update: West Lane Apartments

SJG Properties' West Lane Apartments at 4901 Montgomery Lane in downtown Bethesda is still on-schedule for delivery as promised this spring. That had been in doubt this past fall, but the project appears to have gotten back on track since. A colder-than-average but light-on-snow winter surely helped in that regard.

A seven-story building with 112 units (15% of which will be affordable), it not surprisingly has a walk score of 99, and is within easy walking distance of the Bethesda Metro station. Building features will include a 2-level underground parking garage, a gym, a terrace bar, and the ubiquitous rooftop deck. SK+I is the architecture firm, and Clark Construction is the contractor.

The West Lane Apartments are nearing completion at 4901 Montgomery Lane in downtown Bethesda. A brick facade similar to that of the new Hampden Row project covers most of the exterior now, with the notable exception of the dramatic curve where the lobby entrance is located. It appears balconies will be modest in size, and still lack railings at this stage. The 112-unit building has been scheduled for delivery this coming Spring. SJG Properties is the developer.
