The deadly storm from parts west did some damage in Maryland, but was barely noticed in Bethesda. While the clouds were foreboding, the actual storm zipped past in minutes. Some lost power, but overall damage was minimal.
Some Bethesda business owners closed to get home before the storm. I saw a few early closures around town, but enjoyed the sign on this shop, where the owner brought a sense of humor to a dark afternoon:
