"The southeast edge of the one-level parking deck adjacent to Macy’s is temporarily closed for maintenance work. All other parking facilities remain operational/available for the use of shoppers and mall employees during regular business hours."
A permit has now been filed with Montgomery County's Department of Permitting Services for $150,000 worth of repairs on the garage structure. The area in question is blocked off to the public, and a heavy mall security presence is patrolling around it. Parking did not seem to be an issue when I stopped by, as plenty of spaces were available in other lots and garages. Although a date has not yet been given for completion, I would suspect they'd like to get this done before the Black Friday crowds arrive in late November.

Mall parking has been pretty bad since construction started. Hope this opens back up soon. Speaking of mall parking and construction, is there a new parking space for the new movie theater and eatery? There isn't any good direct parking access now other than the little outdoor lot.
There are always spaces in the outdoor lots by Macy's. Get off your ass and walk an extra 25 feet.
Sure, I'm happy to and do. But if Montgomery Mall wants to convince folks to come to their mall with convenience as a selling point, that extra several hundred feet is the difference between just walking to whatever is walking distance to me now, minus the car trip.
Doesn't help anyone to be an anonymous smart ass. ;)
I wasn't trying to help you and I remained anonymous because I don't want you to know who I am.
I genuinely think it's stupid to complain that you can't drive right up to the mall entrance of your choice.
Brad, there is also the reopened garage that is directly under the ArcLight Cinemas, which now has an electronic counter that indicates how many spaces are available.
I do think you have a point about parking convenience, as that is one of the major selling points of a suburban mall over an urban setting. Given the short time until holiday shopping season, I suspect they will attempt a timely repair to the deck in question.
They also need to change the concrete sidewalks to moving walkways. You think I want to use energy to go to a store? Think again!
Um hello? #DEPORTDYER!
So you are saying your anonymous comment is worthless. That is all.
And that is why no one gives any credit or thought to anonymous comment.
Agreed.
Obviously you do give some thought to an anonymous comment...you just addressed one such anonymous comment in your comment.
Some of you really need to analyze your feelings, figure out what you really want to say and more effectively express it with a better choice of words.
