The Baked Bear Pike & Rose review (Video+Photos)

The Baked Bear, which opens today at 1:00 PM at 929 Rose Avenue at Pike & Rose, held a soft opening last night. I ordered the most popular item on the menu, which is the ice cream sandwich.

From the options available, I chose a peanut butter cookie for the top of the sandwich, and a chocolate chip cookie for the bottom. My ice cream filling selection was their famous and Instagram-ready Bear Batter flavor, and I picked Oreo cookie bits as my topping (although in this case, they go around the sides - and were generous Oreo cookie chunks complete with cream filling, rather than simply crumbled Oreo chocolate bits like most places).

Watch my complete review, and see video of the restaurant interior, now.

Looks yummy. Two things:

1. Aren't you wearing the same jacket as Tarnation Bob? Gotta keep your personalities straight!

2. Are there calorie counts posted? I didn't see it in your photo of the menu on the wall. Is it on a handout or something?

While you were reviewing an ice cream sandwich, Hans Reimer spent several hours at the Bethesda Bike to Work Day event on Friday morning at the Anthropology Plaza. I saw him shake many hands, and speak to dozens of potential voters who braved the rain to attend the event. Not sure if bike communters or ice eaters are a larger political opportunity. Probably not the same group...

"Hi everybody, Robert Dyer and welcome, welcome, to the Robert Dyer Channel for a very special episode tonight I'm on the way to the soft opening at the Baked Bear at Pike and Rose which is opening tomorrow Saturday May 19th I think it is and I'm gonna go in and try the famous ice cream sandwich which you can make from many options and So let's go ahead and go in...

It took you 38 seconds to say that?

2:21: Using a taxpayer-funded event as a campaign event - probably not legal, but wouldn't be the first time Hans Riemer has broken the law. In fact, he was arrested just six months ago.

6:30: Huh? Nobody has a clue what point you're making, including yourself, I suspect.

The point is that you should take speech lessons and think ahead about what you're going to say. Because you sound retarded. You could at least try moving your jaw when you talk.

Robert Dyer said...

8:20: I have over 11,000 YouTube subscribers. I don't have to use cue cards like Hans Riemer, and I actually have the guts to show up to debate - unlike Hans, George Leventhal and Nancy Floreen in 2014.

You have zero YouTube subscribers, and are still using the "R-word" as an insult in 2018. You're in no position to be criticizing anybody. But voters appreciate knowing that a self-proclaimed Riemer supporter uses the R-word before they accidentally vote for Riemer.

Robert Dyer said...

Whoa, I actually have 12,143 subscribers on YouTube. Makes you sound like even more of an imbecile.

How is "imbecile" morally superior to "retard"?

“taxpayer-funded event”

Huh? It was supported by Commuter Connections and WABA. Neither of those are government agencies.

Any endorsements yet, Robbie?

"Cue cards"

"A card held beside a camera for a television broadcaster to read from while appearing to look into the camera."

Notes are not "cue cards", Robbie.

In Dyer’s world we’re supposed to fault President Reimer for showing up prepared.

Robert Dyer said...

9:46: They are when you have to read directly off of them.

12:54: Showing up prepared is what I do. Needing cue cards to read off basic facts and concepts is not being prepared.

Dyer, Your envy is showing, you might want to tuck that back in.

"Using a taxpayer-funded event as a campaign event"

Does this mean that you and Robin Ficker are breaking the law when you campaign during Taste of Bethesda?
