Ice cream machine installed at Jeff's Best in Bethesda

The most important thing at Jeff's Best Soft Serve Ice Cream was installed yesterday - the ice cream machine. A self-serve machine, it dispenses several flavors, toppings, and a spoon to eat it with.

The machine is touting Turkey Hill as the manufacturer of the ice cream. There are also a few tables and chairs inside for dining-in.

Stay tuned for news on the opening date. Jeff's Best is located at 8004 Norfolk Avenue.

Ted Drews from St. Louis has a few machines as well. The ice cream their machines dispense is their own decades old recipes. Turkey Hill ice cream is nothing to get your panties in a bunch about. This looks like another dumb idea for Bethesda. If this is just a machine, why pay sky high rent? Just put it in your favorite mall somewhere.

Dyer, I'm surprised you didn't blame the Council for this -- I would have. This is a response to the upcoming increase in minimum wage to $15/hr that Elrich and his union buddies pushed for.

Now we see the result -- businesses go to automation to reduce labor costs, resulting in a lower number of jobs created.
