Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse to take over Nike space at Pike & Rose

Federal Realty has found a winning tenant to take over the just-vacated Nike Factory Store space at Pike & Rose. Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse will open in the prominent corner at Old Georgetown Road and Grand Park Avenue in early 2019.

This lease really hits the target in two ways. First, it again bolsters Pike & Rose's status as arguably the top self-contained dining destination in Montgomery County, particularly once all of the pending new restaurants have opened by early next year. Second, Fogo de Chão is a brand well-known to the young, creative class professionals Federal Realty has sought to attract to the development. That demographic knows Fogo de Chão, because they are already dining at the other Fogo de Chão locations in the area.

For those not familiar with the chain, Fogo de Chão was founded in the great country of Brazil in 1979. Diners take an edible tour of the traditional churrasco roasted meats of Southern Brazil. Meats are sliced tableside by servers, but there are also many vegetable and fruit dishes to try. In fact, the company touts the health benefits of the Brazilian diet on its website.

Se Acostumando!

Sorry, @ 5:12, but your Scoopage announcement was scooped.

#ScoopageTime: 11 minutes.

As seen in United Way magazine.

I'm imagining the not so anonymous neck beard slobbering all over his keyboard talking about scoops and such.

Why do you assume that Fogo de Chão is known only to this demographic AKA "coveted Millennials"?

Fogo de Chao is a bit passé nowadays. This blog clearly does not have its finger resting on the pulse of current trends and preferences.

9:06: And you do with your praise for Barwood Cab? LOL

Love the non-sequiturs about Barwood (and Comcast).

March 22, 2017: "If you want to go ahead and praise Barwood Cab, Comcast, and the MVA license renewal experience while you're at it, knock yourself out."

May 15, 2017: "Do you want to put a good word in for Barwood cab while you're at it. 'Love the service Comcast provides!' Give me a break."

March 2, 2018: "I love waiting for hours at the MVA, getting charged extra by Comcast for channels that are basic tier on other services, Barwood not picking me up as scheduled, and paying over $10,000 in property taxes to our fabulously criminal County Council. Murders are up, and life HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER!"

Meanwhile, the Old Legacy Print and Broadcast Media has bodyslammed you into a coffee table with their reporting on the fire on Whittier Boulevard.

Wonder when the last time Reimer used a Barwood cab was. He should have to eat his own dog food if he wants the rest of us to bail out a failing cab company.

Quality retail spaces in pike and rose turns attracts desirable retail tenants. First Nike now this. If only Woodmont triangle could have quality retail spaces. Unfortunately old landlords control the decrepit retail in most of Woodmont and the spaces are unfit for most well run retail businesses.

One time when I was at the one by Trump Hotel someone collapsed and an ambulance took them out. The staff carried on as usual. It seemed like it happens there all of the time.

I am legitimately confused by the Barwood Cab comment. I’ve seen them on the streets (blue cars I think?) but I’ve never taken a ride in one, much less “praised” them.

Are you just doing that thing where you assume I’m employed by some perceived adversary? Or perhaps you’re using Saul Alinsky tactics to try and deflect criticism.

10:08: I reported on the fire in real time when it happened - your attempt to praise reheated reports hours after the actual fire is laughable. News doesn't just occur during bankers' hours.

1:19: You've been outspoken in your opposition to Uber and Lyft, and in your support for the Council's moves to raise the cost of popular ride-sharing services, and embarrassing effort to force taxpayers to subsidize failing Barwood,, which went bankrupt after being subsized. Heckuva job, Brownie!

10:05: So you're endorsing them again? Meanwhile, the rest of us are trying to remember the last time we actually saw a young person roll up on the club in a Barwood Cab. LOL You are a dinosaur in rumpled Gap clothes with more hatred than intelligence.

Three more murders in Fairfax County tonight. Looks like they are running way ahead of Montgomery County this year.

9:09: You said I didn't have a "finger on the pulse of current trends," which was a laughable insult when you believe Barwood Cab is still trendy in the age of Uber, which everyone else but you is using.

You are the fool.

8:10: #FakeNews - MoCo murders went up 31% in 2017, and now 10% more on top of that this year.

Dyer, when did Baloney Concrete say that "Barwood Cab is still trendy in the age of Uber", and what does this have to do with Fogo de Chao?

9:09 didn’t use the phrase “finger on the pulse of current trends.” I did. Whoever it is you think I am!

I have literally never said a word about Barwood or Uber subsidies or any of this nonsense. Believe it or not I’m just a guy who lives in MoCo, works for a small company in downtown DC, and thinks this could actually be a decent website if it weren’t for the arglebargle, conspiracy theories, and personal vendettas.

"Fogo de Chão was founded in the great country of Brazil in 1979."

Why is that verbiage needed?

"The company touts the health benefits of the Brazilian diet on its website."

Why not include a link to their website?
