New restaurant coming to vacant Penang building in Bethesda

A new tenant has leased the vacant space that housed Penang at 4933 Bethesda Avenue. There isn't a name or cuisine known yet, but it may be a Korean BBQ or hot pot concept. I say this because BBQ-equipped tables are being installed in the dining room.

Keeping with that block, I'm sure whatever is is will be awful.

Unless you’re seeing massive overhead exhaust ducts being installed, I don’t see this being a Korean BBQ place. My guess would be a hot pot spot with induction burners at the tables.

I WILL NOT be eating here. You're welcome for knowing this FACT!~

The return of Ricky's Rice Bowl? I jest. Man, do I miss that place. Anyone have their seoul bowl sauce recipe, btw? Willing to pay for it.

Ricky's Rice Bowl in Bethesda has been gone for twenty-five years. The Gaithersburg location has been gone for five years.

Cinco - not quite 25 since it left Bethesda, but 20+. Frequented both locations often. Sunny was my man. Miss the food.

Yet no one has been able to come close to their seoul bowl sauce.
