Who picked that facade? It already looks outdated.
The construction of this high rise has significantly reduced the market value of residential units overlooking the construction site in the condominium building next door. So whatever proponents of high-density development might say, the market is saying that potential home buyers prefer not to have their view obstructed by a high-rise apartment building. And both old and new existing high-rise apartment complexes, including Bethesda Place on the corner of Woodmont and Old Georgetown, have now leasing signs posted, indicating that they are at significantly less than full occupancy even before the Edge and other new developments are completed. Proximity to a metro station has less value in the post-Covid world, compounding the long-term chronic unreliability of the metro system and the risk of accidents. Not to mention the adverse effects of high-density development on local infrastructure. In the long term, the Bethesda development model is a disaster in the making.
Looks like this will open before 7900 Wisconsin even though 7900 had a two year head start..lol
