Credit cards stolen from car in Bethesda church parking lot

How low will criminals go? Breaking into cars parked outside of sunrise services on Christmas, for one. Montgomery County police responded to a report of theft from a vehicle parked in a church parking lot in Bethesda on Christmas morning. The theft was reported in the Our Lady of Lourdes Church parking lot in the 7500 block of Pearl Street at 7:25 AM last Thursday. A property damage report indicates the vehicle was broken into, rather than left unlocked. The thief later attempted to use one of the stolen credit cards at a restaurant.

MCPD is hamstrung by inept leadership in Rockville and Annapolis. The PL will reek more havoc unless they start enforcing laws already on the books.

Leaving credit cards in a car, locked or not, is very stupid.

While in college, someone stole my friend's purse during communion. Lesson learned: Never leave anything unattended in the pews!

They cannot see the laws for the loopholes. . .

How do you know that the person who stole your friend's purse was a college student at the time?

Don’t believe he said it was a student though…

They should have cameras looking at that parking lot. That relatively small investment can be very helpful in catching crooks obviously. St. Jane de Chantal was broken into and could have been burned to the ground had they not had a really good fire suppression system. They added cameras everywhere. Smart.
