Cubano's pauses alcohol sales in Bethesda

Cubano's
at 4907 Cordell Avenue in downtown Bethesda has temporarily paused liquor sales. The restaurant is applying for a new liquor license from Montgomery County. Until it is successful in obtaining one, no beer, wine, or alcoholic cocktails can be served. Cubano's previously held a Class B liquor license from the County. It's unclear how the restaurant lost that license.

If they 'card' everyone, even if quite obviously over age, it's usually because they served a minor.

Why don't they just stick with Sammiches instead of catering to the booze hounds? Wasn't this place an offshoot of Louisiana Express on Bethesda Ave w- the excellent Po Boys or was is that the place on Del Ray Ave?

The original Cubano's was a fixture in Silver Spring for at least 20 years. They opened their second location in Bethesda, and later closed the Silver Spring place.

1:08pm They tout having the "best mojito in Bethesda" so liquor is very much needed for the full experience.
