Custom Ink relocating in downtown Bethesda

Custom Ink is moving in downtown Bethesda. It has cleared out its current storefront at 7029 Arlington Road at Bethesda Row. Custom Ink's new location will be at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue, in #500-82. An opening date for the new custom printing store has not yet been announced. It's possible that the vacant storefront could be combined with the unit next door, which was just leased by New Balance, to create a larger retail space.

Starbucks is now open at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue. The new store celebrated with a grand opening event yesterday afternoon. There was free food, and live music from a string quartet. The painting on the wall of the store is Polinizadores by Jade Rivera of Lima, Peru, who says, "You may discover a new emotion within when standing in front of this painting." Another very talented artist is right on the premises: check out the sandwich board art promoting the limited-time fall drinks.

Sign removed at shuttered Starbucks in Bethesda

The Starbucks that closed earlier this week at 7140 Wisconsin Avenue is being dismantled. Among the items being loaded into a truck out front on Thursday was the store's rooftop sign. This Starbucks has moved to 7200 Wisconsin Avenue, where it will reopen today, with a special grand opening event from 3:00 - 5:00 PM this afternoon, September 3, 2021.

Bethesda's newest Starbucks gets new opening date

Here's the latest update on the new Starbucks at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda. After missing the original target opening date of August 20, the store has scheduled a new grand opening for September 3, 2021. A grand opening event will take place from 3:00-5:00 PM that day, and will feature live music, prizes, treats and snacks, and your favorite Starbucks beverages.

Goodbye forever, old Starbucks

As I've been reporting for months, the new Starbucks will replace the existing one at 7140 Wisconsin Avenue. That store has now permanently closed, and the move across Bethesda Avenue to 7200 Wisconsin is currently underway ahead of Friday's grand opening.

It will replace the current Starbucks at 7140 Wisconsin, which is being demolished to make way for a new high-rise apartment building of over 20 stories. A new sign has been installed inside the store, identifying the "mobile order pickup" area.

The slow walk to completion of the newest downtown Bethesda Starbucks at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue continues. More shipping boxes, tables and chairs have arrived. And I have a close-up of the large artwork on the wall. The hummingbird you may have seen on some Starbucks cups and their Veranda coffee bags, but a sprite holding something that looks like a key with the handle broken off is riding it near a coffee plant.

Coffee equipment is being installed at the new Starbucks at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda. Some is coming all the way from Switzerland, as at least one large shipping carton on the coffee bar indicates. A large piece of art now hangs on the wall. There are also curtains in the windows. This location will eventually replace the existing Starbucks across Bethesda Avenue.

Opening day gets closer and closer at the new Starbucks at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The store has more furniture, a bar set up, and coffee brewing equipment in place. It will eventually replace the existing Starbucks currently located across Bethesda Avenue.
