SCULPT STUDIO PILATES GYM OPENING JANUARY 25 IN BETHESDA (PHOTO)

The second big Bethesda fitness announcement this week is from 4900 Auburn Avenue, where Sculpt Studio will open January 25. Sculpt will be the first Megaformer Pilates studio in Bethesda. An endorsement of Megaformer Pilates by Sofia Vergara is prominently displayed on the Sculpt website.

What is Megaformer? It's an exercise machine which is a variation on the Pilates reformer. Much like the more sophisticated cycles coming to PureRyde in the Bradley Shopping Center, these machines offer more movements than traditional equipment in the discipline. That means more parts of the body can be worked out by the machines.

If you like Sculpt Studio on Facebook, they'll give you a free class when it opens. Curious about just what this whole Megaformer thing involves, or if it's right for you? Check out the FAQ section on their website. It certainly sounds like a convenient location for residents of Triangle Towers, The Palisades, and, soon, the Gallery Bethesda.
