BUYER'S EDGE REAL ESTATE OFFICE TAKES OVER JUST CAKES SPACE IN BETHESDA

Buyer's Edge, a real estate company, has moved into the former Just Cakes space at 4849 Rugby Avenue. Just Cakes closed March 17 of this year.  The original Buyer's Edge office in Bethesda was on Hampden Lane. Buyer's Edge only represents buyers in real estate transactions, and operates in the  DC area, as well as from a new office in Baltimore.

SYMMETRY SALON STUDIOS OPENS IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Symmetry Salon Studios has opened at 4908 Hampden Lane in downtown Bethesda. It is one street over from Bethesda Row.

The salon, which brings stylists with different specialties under one roof, will offer cuts, coloring, blowouts and much more.

FREE PEOPLE BOUTIQUE OPENS IN BETHESDA AT WESTFIELD MONTGOMERY MALL (PHOTOS)

Bethesda is going boho at the new Free People boutique, now open at Westfield Montgomery Mall.

A store targeted towards 26-year-old women, Free People is part of the Urban Outfitters company, which recently opened a store in the mall, as well.

HOAMGAR OPENS IN BETHESDA; BOUTIQUE IS CHINESE LABEL'S FIRST OUTSIDE OF ASIA (PHOTOS)

The discerning Bethesda fashionista, who wants to wear something none of her friends or coworkers have, has a new hot spot in Bethesda.

Hoamgar, a popular fashion house that has produced lines sold exclusively in China, Mongolia and Singapore for the last two decades, has opened its first boutique outside of Asia right here at Westfield Montgomery Mall.

The clean white interior of the store puts all the attention on the clothes, until now unavailable in America.

BRADLEY PARTY & VARIETY OPENS IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Bradley Party & Variety had its long-awaited opening yesterday, in the legendary Bruce Variety space at Bradley Shopping Center.

The revamped interior - by the Bethesda architectural firm of Bruce Lawson - retains a retro atmosphere, but is brighter and more colorful and spacious. Most notably, exposed hardwood floors play an integral part in the design.

New automatic front doors are a nice touch, as well as being practical when carrying large shopping bags out to the car.

Bradley Party & Variety's hours are:

Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Regular readers will recognize the new BP&V logo, chosen in a design contest sponsored by the owners, which I gave you an exclusive preview of months ago.

Now the competition begins in earnest. With the original Bruce Variety open at 8011 Woodmont Avenue, both stores will compete for your business.

Talk about perfect timing - Valentine's Day is only 10 days away, and Tasty Image can create candies with custom images just for you or your chocoholic Valentine.

BETHESDA MARKET OPENS, DELI SECTION TO OPEN NEXT WEEK

The new Bethesda Market opened yesterday at the Shops at Sumner Place on Sangamore Road.

This week, the beer and wine sections are open, just in time for nearby residents to get ready for holiday parties and dinners.

Owner Vijay Mhera told me their Deli section will open next week, as soon as Montgomery County issues the permits.

So, if you live nearby, it's beverages this week, and lunches next week.
