WHITE STAR ACQUIRES PARVA RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE BUILDING IN BETHESDA

Bethesda-based White Star Investments has acquired the building currently leased by The Parva Restaurant and Lounge, at 7904 Woodmont Avenue, in downtown Bethesda.

White Star purchased the 50-year-old, 2-story building for $2,200,000, in the name of White Star Woodmont, LLC.

The Parva's lease extends through 2016, so they won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Let's hope The Parva can stay, as the 2-level restaurant/lounge fills a major gap in Bethesda. Not only do they feature South American cuisine from Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina and Peru, but also Latin-themed nightlife and events. Often you can find two different events going on at once, or DJs spinning a different type of music on each floor.

It would seem that - in the long term - the property would have the highest value if it were combined with the building next door (which houses BGR, Jetties, etc.), which would provide more room for a larger building. There is no indication that property owner has any interest in redeveloping, however.

I hope they don't stay. They keep the residents in the Fairmont condo building up with their loud music and patrons standing outside. They've received numerous noise complaints.

From what I understand, Parva has been non responsive to noise complaints from residents who live in the Fairmont. Will the county help in the matter?

Isn't it the job of police to enforce noise violations. Were they called?
