Former Remix Recycling Co. space for lease in Bethesda

Remix Recycling Co., formerly Mustard Seed, has moved to 7022 Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda. Their former location at 7349 Wisconsin is now available for lease. It is right by the construction site for the Avocet Tower development, so a great location long-term, but a noisy and dusty one short-term.

I've always loved that little building, I hope it stays. Store downstairs, walk-up apts upstairs.

I'm still incredulous that the store owners decided to rebrand. Everyone knew Mustard Seed, it was a Bethesda institution. Remix Recycling Co sounds like a used record store, not a new and used clothing store.

Agree on the rebranding, that was dumb. "Recycling Co." sounds like a place to drop off recyclables, and attracting vermin because people are too lazy to rinse their drink bottles and food trays before discarding.

It was a camera store in previous decades. As well as one of the locations of Blackistone's Florist. Mr. Blackistone lived to 111.

Suze, I think there was ownership split issues with the Mustard Seed name not allowed to stay. I know the building owners but haven't talked to them in a few years.

Anna, I did not know that! I guess that makes sense. But still, they couldn't come up with something better than Remix Recycling?

Someone posted before that they were trying to sell but having issues because of the historic designation. Any ideas on their asking price? Know a couple interested parties.

Didn't they set up a GoFundMe to pay their rent a few months ago? Guess that didn't quite work out.
