Leo & Liv restaurant to open in The Bethesdan Hotel

The DoubleTree Bethesda hotel, in the process of becoming The Bethesdan Hotel this year, has made the next move in the race of downtown hotels to add dining and retail options. Leo & Liv will be a new restaurant in the rebranded hotel.

There is no information about the menu yet, a hotel employee said, but the rebranding changes include updated dining and a new space for a restaurant or shop to the left of the hotel's front entrance right off the lobby. The hotel is not leaving the Hilton portfolio, but is being moved from the DoubleTree brand to the Tysons-based worldwide chain's Tapestry Collection.
Rather than familiar brand touches like the warm chocolate chip cookie found at check-in at all DoubleTrees, the emphasis for the Tapestry Collection is on local experiences unique to each property. Nearby competitor Hyatt Regency Bethesda has added a Starbucks and - soon - The Brown Bag to its ground floor.
