Bethesda construction update: Marriott International HQ and hotel (Video+Photos)

The future Marriott International headquarters building at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda has topped out. An adjacent Marriott hotel already topped out earlier this year. Curtain wall and glass installation continues, and roofing and miscellaneous steel work will begin later this month. Eight out of the seventeen elevator systems on the property are now being assembled. Striping in the underground parking garage is scheduled to begin this week.

Tastee Diner made a huge mistake in not selling to Marriott. Huge.

Wow, I bet all the hundreds of employees that were laid off can't wait to work in such a nice office! -said no one ever.

Tastee will not survive. I go there from time to time and it's perfectly safe. It's also empty which makes it even safer I guess but not good. Their business is so off it's not even funny. They are open 24/7. Geez. If they can hold on, they'll do well with Marriott there but that will take time. Marriott doesn't have employees in the office right now as other companies but have also laid off a ton of HQ people.
