Assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda Wednesday night, August 17, 2022. The assault was reported at 7:49 PM. This was the seventh 2nd-degree assault reported at the mall since May 18. The Montgomery County Police Department recently announced it would be opening a "resource room" at the property.

They need to open an entire police sub station there. Unreal. Let's hope this doesn't become Lenox Square Mall in ATL which is more on par with Tyson's Corner Center. That mall there is so bad that you can't bring your family to do anything. Crime is out of control even at that upscale mall. It's crazy.

I used to go to to Lenox when I lived in Atlanta in the early ‘00s and I am so sad to hear this. I haven’t been to Montgomery Mall since before the pandemic and have no desire to go there.

9:04 - I'm actually in ATL right now and nope, can't go to Lenox today and I need to do some shopping at multiple stores which makes the mall convenient obviously. It's a real shame and is part of the reason that Buckhead is trying to become its own independent city. Atlanta is totally screwed up.
