New vegan restaurant opening in downtown Bethesda

A new tenant is moving into the former Fine Consigns Bethesda space at 4916 Cordell Avenue in the Woodmont Triangle. The vacant storefront has been undergoing renovations recently. According to a construction worker, it will be a vegan restaurant. There's plenty of room for newcomers in that category, even if restaurants like PLANTA, Lilit Cafe, True Food Kitchen and Dalia's Falafel represent stiff competition. The restaurant is expected to open in October 2023.

How is it stiff competition? Literally nothing healthy to eat in the woodmont triangle. This will be a nice change from all the indulgent food that lines cordell. Place should do well even if they just sell some salads at fast-casual prices.

The Woodmont Triangle area severely lacks restaurants with multiple vegan options and a menu that marks them as such. This will be a welcome addition

A welcome addition indeed... and hopefully they will accept cash.

@4:06 - Couldn't agree more, there should be a law forbidding retail establishments from not accepting cash. I now, no longer shop at Whole Paycheck now that they have instituted the practice of no cash transactions.

Correct but vegan doesn’t necessarily mean healthy. Planta does not seem particularly healthy for instance.
