Subway is coming to Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The famous sandwich chain has leased the former J. Chow space in the Dining Terrace food court. After a number of independent or local tenants have flopped spectacularly in the food court in recent times, it appears Westfield is going to try a "sure thing" with a popular national brand, just as McDonald's and Chick-fil-A continue to enjoy tremendous success at the mall year after year.
Construction of the new Subway is expected to begin in a few weeks. I think this will be a great addition to the food court. Especially with the recent improvements and additions to the Subway menu. We'll know inflation is officially over when the $5 Footlong returns to Subway.

Subway was a the food court many years ago. I use to go there all the time
I agree with Robert. I think that they'll do well. Subway means fresh made to order. Appeals to me.
I've always tried to like Subway, but somehow their food just falls short. I get hungry again too soon. Maybe that's a good thing?
Subway is a popular chain, yes. But people really need to do their research. Every item they sell is processed meaning full of chemicals most especially, their meat. Their bread even had a chemical compound used in rubber and yoga mats. Thankfully, they removed that a few years ago. It's cheap but absolute garbage. To be fair, much of the food court is also garbage and loaded with chemicals save a few.
No more $5 footlongs, the prices have gone up, while the quality goes down. Pass!
Red Line or Purple Line?
5:19, and their ‘tuna' wasn’t even tuna. Horrible place and terrible food.
Most Subway Sandwich Shops are just a Clearing House for anchor babies.
