Hollister to return to Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

John Hollister, Jr. lives! Nearly a decade after Hollister closed at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. the California surfer-inspired apparel retailer is planning a triumphant return this fall. Word is that Hollister will move into one of the spaces just vacated by Foot Locker or Merlo Point. Part of the Abercrombie & Fitch empire, Hollister is one of those tenants every self-respecting American mall simply must have, like Cinnabon, Auntie Anne's, Sephora, Urban Outfitters, and - come to think of it - Abercrombie & Fitch. If not, is it really a mall?

It's an new generation of "kids" now and A&F and its sister Hollister have jumped the shark so to speak. Back in 2006, nearly two decades ago, the former CEO was quoted as saying;

“We go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely!”

DEI may get suppressed by a fat clown, but in this area attitudes like the ex-CEO Mike Jeffries live on. Westfield should have them on an annual lease.

Do any of the trendy fashionistas actually know the history of Hollister, CA? 1% bikers passed through at one time back in the 1950's I believe, took over the town, pillaged & raped at least one underage girl. I laugh at every single individual walking by me "sporting" a Hollister© T-shirt.

A&F- much much worse than the "cool kids" comment. Google assist will explain the gruesome details.

Garage already brings in so much traffic, cant imagine how crowded the mall will be once Hollister opens back up. Hollister is like one of the most teen-favorite go-to stores nowadays.

I have a friend working in Abercrombie, and heard that the Hollister is supposedly moving to the Foot Locker Location. In-front of Garage, probably arriving late fall to winter.
