Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on Christmas Eve. The assault was reported at the mall at 11:17 AM Wednesday. This was the eleventh assault to take place at the popular retail center this year. That ties the eleven reported at the property in 2024.

11:17 a.m. is *not* "Christmas Eve." Since when (not just here) has the entire day of December 24 been referred to as "Christmas Eve"? Does that mean that late in the day on December 24 is now "Christmas Eve Eve"??
