Vacant Paisano's now available for lease as "prime" space in Bethesda

As if we needed any more evidence that Paisano's has permanently closed at 4914 Del Ray Avenue. Now a sign has been posted officially announcing the restaurant is available for lease. The banner describes it as "prime" space. Certainly it is a prime space in general, but probably not if you're trying to open a pizza parlor. Two in a row have now failed there. Anything else besides pizza I think would be a better fit at this spot!

Sheriff threatens to evict Paisano's from Bethesda location

Happy Thanksgiving: Montgomery County Sheriff Darren M. Popkin has posted an official notice of eviction on the door of Paisano's pizzeria at 4914 Del Ray Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The pizzeria abruptly closed a few days ago.

Now the sheriff is threatening to serve the writ of eviction if the business does not pay rent and other charges owed to the landlord and courts. The warning is labeled as a "final notice to vacate premises."

What's going on at Paisano's? First, the pizzeria at 4914 Del Ray Avenue posted a banner declaring it was under new management. Now the windows are (mostly) papered over, and a sign states that the restaurant is "closed for relocation."

The Bethesda location has been removed from the pizza chain's official website, and neither the site nor the restaurant are displaying a new address for a "relocated" Paisano's. Although this spot was unsuccessful for previous pizza brands, this Paisano's does have pretty good ratings from customers online. Strangely, the sign was still lit up, despite the restaurant being dark and closed last night.

Paisano's Pizza, which has been named the best pizza in the DC area by listeners of WTOP, plans to open today in downtown Bethesda. The restaurant is located at 4914 Del Ray Avenue.

Paisano's hoping for October opening in downtown Bethesda, Serpentine dance studio update (Photos)

The newest entry in the pizza category in downtown Bethesda, Paisano's, is hoping to open before the end of the month at 4914 Del Ray Avenue. They're still building out the interior of the former Naked Pizza space, so I would expect it to be late October at this point.

Meanwhile, over at the former home of a French video store at 4930 St. Elmo Avenue, the future Serpentine Dance Studio has finally posted some Coming Soon signage. It had previously been scheduled to open in July, but had run into delays. They are now promising a January opening.

The sign is up on the storefront of the future Paisano's Pizza in downtown Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle. You may recall I broke the story in May that Paisano's is taking over the former Naked Pizza space at 4914 Del Ray Avenue.

The front windows were still wrapped Thursday, as work continues inside. Paisano's already has two Montgomery County locations in Rockville and Gaithersburg.

You wouldn't know it from walking past the empty space, but pizza is coming back to the vacant 4914 Del Ray Avenue storefront formerly home to Naked Pizza. After apparently generating more headlines than customers, Naked Pizza closed last September.

A solid source tells me the new tenant is Paisano's Pizza, a popular DC-area chain now expanding into Montgomery County. They already have restaurants in Gaithersburg and Rockville.

Paisano's Pizza was voted the best in the DC area by WTOP FM listeners in recent years. Paisano's uses Grande Cheese on their pizzas, "the finest Italian cheeses money can buy." Overall, this sounds like good news for Woodmont Triangle residents who like pizza.
