UNITED BANK MOVING IN DOWNTOWN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

United Bank, for which a demolition permit has been requested, is moving from its 7535 Old Georgetown Road location to 7845 Wisconsin Avenue, at Chase Avenue. They will be taking over the old Charleston Alexander jewelry store space on the south corner, on the same block as CVS Pharmacy. Their move has been delayed a few days due to the recent snowstorm. United's regional manager, Ron Burley, says customers who have any questions may call 301-654-2757.

What a shame. That was such a uniquely designed building. And more banks along Wisconsin making for dead blocks in the evening. Fantastic.

But I must add that it'll be nice to add some density and activate that block so close to the metro

It's quite odd that my bank is always trying to force me to do everything online, electronic, etc. Yet, there are more physical bank branches opening than ever in downtown Bethesda! There must be a very good business reason for them to do this, but they haven't shared it with the public yet.

What happened to Charleston Alexander? I bought my wife's engagement ring from there years ago.
