The owners of 4800 Hampden Lane are planning to turn a recently-demoed space in their office building into an "annex." Large plans for "The Annex at 4800 Hampden Lane" are displayed on the wall inside the space. The building is home to many traditional offices, as well as co-working spaces.

Why were the building owners not asked what their plans were for this "Annex"?
If I am not mistaken, you were standing on the privately owned pedestrian passage, not a public street. It appears that you placed your camera on the storefront and took unauthorized photos of a private place. I suppose you would think it would be OK to walk on the pedestian walkway behind the Flats and walk up to a ground level apartment with the blinds open and photograph the interior of their active living room with someone watching TV. Both seem to be a violation of private property and could be considered stalking or as I previously indicated, peeping. Yes perhaps a grey area, but I believe this is not respectful to a fellow citizen.
Now if the owner of 48 Hampdon Place invited you in, or you contacted the owner and asked if you could take a few photos of their space and write a nice story about their project, that would be different. But photographing the interior of a public place without permission, especially late at night, is not ethical. The same thing as photographing a person on the street and not getting a signed photo release before publishing.
I certainly enjoy your reportage of development, but I think you are crossing the line to do so without the owners permission.
