Fu Shing to close in Bethesda

Another long-time Bethesda restaurant is closing. Fu Shing Cafe at 10315 Westlake Drive will close on July 1, 2019. The Chinese restaurant has been in business for twenty years. In announcing the closure, the owners said what they will miss the most after closing are the restaurant's loyal customers.

Why are they closing?

1) Because the MoCo Cartel wouldn't reopen the Regal?

2) Because they got tired of local yutes spray-painting the letter "K" over the letters "SH" in the sign?

3) Because this is part of the gradual closure of the mall in preparation for redeveloping the site as a cookie-cutter town center with Section 8 boarding houses?

Why have movie theaters forsaken us?! If only we had one, we could keep our economy alive. FOR SHAME CITY COUNCIL, FOR SHAME!

A shame, this is a good place. It'll be missed.

Other sites quickly plagiarized this report from Dyer :/

Sad. This is the best chines restaurant Ive ever been to in this country. None of thick nasty sloppy goopy yack swimming with the meat.

Why the childish name-calling?

I heard an unconfirmed rumor that it was because of yet another rent increase. That wouldn't surprise me - their prices were low, even for a Chinese restaurant, and they are in a relatively high rent area.
It's a shame to see them go. We ate their often and used their free delivery even more often. And despite their low prices, the quality of their food surpassed most more expensive restaurants.
They told me another Chinese restaurant is going to open in a month. I wish them luck, but it won't be Fu Shing.
