Matchbox aiming for early August opening at Bethesda Row

Matchbox says they plan to open their new Bethesda Row location in "early August." I haven't seen a lot of activity at the space at the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Elm Street, but the windows are covered, so perhaps they have been working in there. Best-known for their wood-fired pizzas and sliders, Matchbox will replace the shuttered American Tap Room.

Good. Can't wait to never go there. The Rockville location won't be near as busy and parking is plentiful and free.

Wonder if BTB will be invited to the soft opening considering his great job at promotion?

Will close within 2 weeks. No movie theater is in Bethesda!

I've noticed that Robert sometimes isn't invited to soft openings...don't recall seeing him at the Q party with Chef Chang...wondering if he also won't be invited to this one? Perhaps because he is too polarizing for the business based on his insults and it could be construed as bad for their business? don't know...I'm just musing but would like to see coverage for those publications that are at this soft/grand opening.
