"Coming soon" signage for Shouk at the Westwood Shopping Center in Bethesda gets bigger as the local chain wins more awards. There's already buzz about the plant-based street food restaurant in the Westbard area, which has rarely had any restaurant news to report since Farrell's closed in the 1980s.
The "Best Fast Casual" award cited in the new signage is referring to Shouk having received that accolade from both Eater DC and The Washington Post. Window coverings at the 5436 Westbard Avenue space also indicate that the interior fit-out is finally getting underway.

Huge mistake not to open on or or near Bethesda Row where there's much more foot traffic during the day and weekends. I don't think this location will do very well here. It's not convenient for anyone at work to easily grab lunch. Could have been closer to the Marriott HQ, etc. Yup, big mistake.
Seems odd to spend any money to fix up and open a restaurant in a building that is about to be torn down very soon. Perhaps they are reusing the former restaurant equipment and furnishings, but it still must be a substantial investment to set up, get Health Department permits, to be open for such a short time. So many other places in nearby downtown Bethesda or Chevy Chase/Friendship Heights that would be a better, and more permanent choice.
@7:44 AM: Good points. None of this makes sense at all.
