Senior citizen suspect arrested in Town of Somerset home invasion

Montgomery County police have arrested a senior citizen in connection with last Thursday night's break-in at a home in the Town of Somerset. Walter Lee Wright, 67, of no fixed address, has been charged with first-degree burglary and "related charges." Wright is currently being without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Police have not publicly released Wright's mugshot.

A female resident of the home, located in the 4500 block of Dorset Avenue, called 911 from her bathroom as Wright allegedly prowled through the house. Grabbing property of unspecified description or value, Wright then exited the home as police arrived at the scene. Seeing the police cruisers pulling up, Wright allegedly began running. Officers caught up with him at the intersection of Cumberland Avenue and Deal Place, and took him into custody.

When they're younger or on scooters we aren't so lucky catching anybody.

Good to see it's accurately being investigated as a home invasion, for all the judicial side gets blamed for mollycoddling, a lot happens before the fact that minimizes the egregiousness.
When does a burglary really become a home invasion? Does it make a difference if the perp knows, or not? Shouldn't it be just enough that the perp has literally all the advantage in the situation they create? What's to keep them from entering, not knowing the target house is occupied? Doesn't thus extend to street crime where one has to assume the perp is armed *regardless * if they threaten it?

Our laws give them too much latitude; remember they are coming for you and your property, they are the ones up to no good, going out of their way to victimize you!

I guess restorative justice doesn't apply to senior citizens. It does however apply to certain juveniles who commit felonies which are the ones to look out for.

You're probably not yet a victim. Give it time.
