UNIQLO construction advances at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda (Photos)

UNIQLO
is going to be a large store when it opens at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda later this year. The latest stage of construction also suggests it may have a new exterior entrance punched through the mall's wall. Several new tenants at the mall over the last decade have obtained permission for this outward-facing feature. It's ironic that stores like Target at Westfield's Wheaton mall have reduced their number of access points recently, likely as a shoplifting deterrent, while it looks like UNIQLO may be increasing the number of entrances to guard.

I don't know too much about "UNIQLO" but I suspect that the people who wear their clothes are the SAME type of people who like to shoplift. Unless they Increase Police Presence in the Mall (VERY WELCOME) then I Don't think it is a Good Idea to have more Exits for the thugs to make their escape with

More UNESCO, less UNIQLO.

10:51 - Well, I wouldn't say that UNIQLO is on the top of the smash and grab, scum bag, shoplifter list knowing quite a lot about that brand since they first arrived in NYC. Great store. I hear what you're saying about easy exits and all that. But again, pretty easy to fix but you need all stakeholders to actual do it. And so far, not fixed.

If so, it's a good thing they have their own entrances. I just hope, too, that they absorb the costs of ostensible extra security and don't 'externalize' the costs and threats onto us, the people that never shop at these places.

10:51 & 6:05 - Go buy your granny pants online, that's the only place you'll find Lane Bryant.

Is that supposed to be funny? Well, it missed the mark and also makes absolutely zero sense.
