Signage installed at UNIQLO at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

Permanent signage for UNIQLO has been installed on its outdoor-facing storefront at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The Japanese apparel store is scheduled to open this Friday, May 23, 2025. Operating hours for UNIQLO will be 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday (including Memorial Day on May 26), and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sundays. When it opens, look for UNIQLO on Level 2 of the mall, in the space where Express and Express Men used to be.

UNIQLO has stayed on-schedule with the interior fit-out of its newest store at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, and as a result, will meet the promised "Spring 2025" opening timeframe. The Japanese casual apparel boutique will open on Friday, May 23, 2025, the chain announced on Instagram yesterday. UNIQLO has two existing locations in Montgomery County, at Pike & Rose in Rockville, and in downtown Silver Spring. The company's origin in Japan was initially inspired by The GAP's business model, but UNIQLO evolved into its own original concept, best known for its partnerships with high-profile brands and designers while keeping prices reasonable.

UNIQLO is going to be a large store when it opens at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda later this year. The latest stage of construction also suggests it may have a new exterior entrance punched through the mall's wall. Several new tenants at the mall over the last decade have obtained permission for this outward-facing feature. It's ironic that stores like Target at Westfield's Wheaton mall have reduced their number of access points recently, likely as a shoplifting deterrent, while it looks like UNIQLO may be increasing the number of entrances to guard.

UNIQLO is aiming for a May 2025 opening at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The target date appears on a sign at a recruiting table set up inside the mall to hire employees for the popular apparel store. The Japanese casual wear retailer will be located on Level 2, in the space just vacated by Express and Express Men. If you can't wait until May, UNIQLO has an existing store nearby at Pike & Rose.

Japanese apparel retailer UNIQLO will open its first Maryland store at Pike & Rose this morning at 10:00 AM. But I managed to get in last night to bring you this exclusive sneak preview of what you will see today. As you will see in some of the pictures, the store carries some items that are exclusive to this store, and to this region. UNIQLO is located at 11853 Grand Park Avenue, right outside the Trade Street garage.

New details on UNIQLO grand opening at Pike & Rose

As I reported recently, Japanese apparel chain UNIQLO will be opening its Pike & Rose store on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM. The company released some additional details about its grand opening events on Wednesday.

Japanese Taiko drummers will perform as a countdown to the doors opening just prior to 10:00 AM that day. The following special promotions will be offered on opening day, and September 2, and only at their Pike & Rose location:

• Kids’: $19.90

Finally, neighbor Kung Fu Tea will be offering your choice of one of the following beverages for free on opening day, and on September 2 (one per customer per day): Passion Fruit Green Tea, Kung Fu Milk Tea, or Winter Melon Green Tea.

This is UNIQLO's first Maryland location; it has existing stores in Tysons and at Union Station. UNIQLO is located at 11853 Grand Park Avenue.

Famed Japanese apparel retailer UNIQLO has posted huge "Coming Soon" signage at their future Pike & Rose location at 11853 Grand Park Avenue. And now we know their opening date, as well - Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM.

The new store's manager will be Elissa Jackson, and they are still hiring employees. For the guys, yes, they also have a large line of men's apparel, as well as women's and children's.

Baked Bear and Uniqlo are coming to Pike & Rose, and Starbucks is moving to a different spot in the development. All 3 want patrons of the Federal Realty property to know their arrival in these new spaces is just around the corner. New hotel Canopy by Hilton (above) will arrive even sooner: their grand opening is now set for next Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Baked Bear, a gourmet custom ice cream sandwich shop, will be located in the L.L. Bean building overlooking Rose Park. Uniqlo, the highly-popular Japanese apparel retailer, will open this fall at 11853 Grand Park Avenue. And Starbucks' future final location has changed yet again - it will now be by H&M at 11860 Grand Park Avenue. The ubiquitous coffee shop will make its move this summer.
